Did you know ceiling fans actually have two modes, one for summer and one for winter? Each mode has a specific function, and only one will cool you down, so make sure you’re using the right one to get the most chill for your money.
In the summertime be sure to avoid accidentally leaving your fan on “winter mode,” where the blades spin clockwise. Blades spinning in this direction draw cooler air up from the floor and push it out across the ceiling where it mingles with warm air, then floats back into the room along the walls. Winter mode is primarily for circulation, not cooling.
